What is CranioSacral Therapy for dogs?

CranioSacral Therapy (or CST) is advanced soft tissue therapy. CST finds tensions in fascia in a slightly different way than traditional massage.  The CST practitioner is not only trained to palpate the cerebrospinal fluid wave and rhythm, but also the body's unique expression of expansion and contraction. If there are imbalances in any of these, there will be pain, restrictions in mobility, poor posture and even behavioral issues.

With light, specific hand and finger placements, these fascial imbalances are released, and healthy motion is restored. Often times a yawn or shake-off is noticed when the body is happily resetting.  Scar tissue is one example of fascial tension. Bringing more space to tight scar tissue areas, releases the pull that comes across the body, therefore relieving and restoring healthy movement and function.
